I love cooking. I subscribe to a ton of recipe blogs.
When people mock pinterest, one of the things they always say is - "It's a place for saving recipes you'll never make". Fuck that! I make recipes I save on pinterest ALL THE TIME. So there.
I never include food posts in my Gems of the Week round-ups even though each week I find a TON of recipes I aim to try someday. I decided I'd start doing a post a week simply devoted to those recipes.
Some of them I've actually tried & others I just want to try at some point in the future (because I looked at the image / ingredient list and went - YUM).
I keep track of all these recipes by bookmarking them (I use google chrome as a browser). Then... let's say I feel like something including edamame or involving chocolate and peanut butter: I'll search for one of those terms and BOOM - I have a whole list or recipes that I've already deemed "tasty looking" featuring that ingredient. I think that's so much more useful than just searching for "edamame recipes" on google itself - you have to wade through a bunch of blah before you find something you might enjoy.
Anyway - this first edition of Edible Gems is devoted to sandwiches.
starting in the upper-left corner, moving clockwise - Shrimp Po' Boys at Bev Cooks / Grilled Mushroom Cheddar Melts at Big Girls Small Kitchen / Herbed Turkey Burgers with Goat Cheese and Cranberry Sauce at Hungry Girl Por Vida / A Spinach Pesto Grilled Cheese Sandwich at Closet Cooking / B L (slow-roasted) T at Not Without Salt / Spinach, Bacon & Goat Cheese Portobello Mushroom Sandwich at BS' in the Kitchen
FOOD. YES. MORE FOOD. I love food, I love to make food and I love to read about food. I have a ridiculous cookbook collection. When my kid is too big for me to blog about Children's Lit, I'm switching over to the cookbooks :)
ReplyDeleteI am so excited for Edible Gems! How about you send me one of your lunch/dinner creations in exchange for dessert? :)
