    This was on tv a few days ago and I caught it. Made me love Rock Hudson even more. He was such a good guy in this.

    adore this film. it was part of a college paper i wrote a life time ago ... films that have the big grande and overwhelming white staircase representing the patriarchal notion/society and all that controlling societal theme. but more than anything --- it is beautifully shot and loaded with underlying meaning. Sirk did a killer job. great choice!
